CIPS Regina Dinner Presentation

Topic:
SOA Networking: SOA Adoption and Impact on Networks

In this presentation, Gary will discuss the adoption of Service-Oriented Architecture in general and its specific impact on telecommunications networks.  As services migrate beyond the immediate enterprise, services impact networks by the increased volume and the very nature of verbose SOAP messaging.  In response to this impact a growing number of networking vendors are providing solutions in the form of XML/SOA appliances, firewalls, and gateways which incorporate XML processing, security, policy management and other functionality.  While this market is in its infancy, the trend to migrate functionality to networking devices will grow as this functionality is commoditized and standards become more widely adopted.  This presentation will outline the current view of Service-Oriented Networking and its future.
