Sonoa Announces the Availability of Industry's First Service Delivery Controller (SDC) for BEA AquaLogic(R) Platform

ServiceNet (SDC) Offers SOA Policy Enforcement, Security and Acceleration

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Sonoa Systems, Inc., an
innovative provider of appliances that offer simplicity, control and
performance in SOA and Web Services environments, today announced that it
is integrating with products from the BEA AquaLogic(R) family to help
optimize, accelerate and improve visibility and performance in distributed
and heterogeneous environments.

Sonoa's ServiceNet appliance is designed to accelerate the BEA
AquaLogic(R) platform while also providing a hardware run-time governance
solution for monitoring and policy enforcement of third party services.

"Sonoa's support for BEA AquaLogic(R) products can help BEA provide an
enterprise-wide service network and service infrastructure to our
customers, helping reduce complexity in the their application environment,"
said Mark Carges, executive vice president at BEA Systems.

As organizations develop a robust service portfolio, the proportion of
cross-domain and cross-platform interactions increases as services are used
in composite applications and to automate business processes that span
organizational boundaries. Managing large scale service interactions across
company and organizational boundaries in a secure and cost-effective manner
is critical to a successful SOA. BEA and Sonoa Systems have partnered to
provide a combined network and service infrastructure that is designed to
offer a robust, high performance and efficient platform for making Web
services work for the business.

ServiceNet provides network and application services including
security, caching, traffic management and policy enforcement, which can
dramatically reduce the operational complexity and costs of deploying and
managing a SOA or Web services environment. As a network-based appliance,
ServiceNet is designed to provide a single point of control for monitoring
service traffic and enforcing policies, allowing greater control over the
usage, availability and reliability of services.

"We are excited to work with BEA in extending their SOA infrastructure
solution with intelligent service networking capabilities. By delivering a
fully integrated, high performance, low latency and cost efficient service
operating solution, Sonoa helps to ensure that a company's Web services can
work," said Chet Kapoor, CEO at Sonoa.

    About ServiceNet

ServiceNet introduces a network-based virtual services layer for any
services-based application environment. Since all operational concerns are
addressed in the virtual services layer instead of in application code
across multiple silos, the degree of complexity and amount of change
required are significantly reduced in each application. In addition,
ServiceNet provides greater flexibility and agility for operations, so
changes can be made independent of the application. By separating
operational concerns from application development, operation teams can
ensure maximum performance -- 24 hours a day, seven days a week -- in the
application environment. ServiceNet provides a single control point for:

--  Authentication, authorization, data protection, and credential mapping
--  Governance, logging, auditing, and compliance enforcement
--  SLA monitoring, rate limiting, load balancing and content-based
        routing
    --  Fault isolation and management
